The final season for NBA is almost over, Golden State Warriors VS Cleveland Cavaliers are fighting for the championship.
I remember during winter time (around December of 2015) there are few sports camps that our kids can join and usually the weather doesn’t favor outdoor sports. Luckily there is the Mavs Basketball Academy offered to kids ages from 5 and up, organized by the Dallas Mavericks Basketball camp. It was a 6-weekend session program within Dallas-Fort Worth locations, the price per session is reasonable as we got a t-shirt and other Mavs freebies. Every week there is a different location and since it happens on Saturdays it is a good time for the whole family to watch and play.
What my son learned?
- Passing skills
- Trebling and moving the ball
- Shooting mechanics
- Defensive principles
- Footwork
- Being a team player
He definitely learned a lot specially on moving the ball and according to him he enjoyed it as he gets to meet new friends. It was a dedicated weekend event for us for 6 weeks and was worth our time. Surely we are going to join again this year.
