5 Tips How Family Can Save on Fitness

April 29, 2016 By: Katycomment

5 Tips How Family Save on FitnessPeople say it is too expensive to get fit and fab. Which makes sense every time I do my grocery, the fruits and vegetables takes so much on my budget. While having junk foods or every meal in a fast food chain is cheaper. Getting fit also includes the exercise or working out in the gym and attending classes in which takes most of our budget.

As a housewife it is my responsibility to create budget and save as much as possible. So I find ways how to save and still be fit.

Here are my 5 tips and hope to help moms out there;

#1. Store bought fruits and vegetables properly – I do grocery twice a month so imagine how I chose and takes care of my produce. I often pick fruits and vegetables in a not so ripe condition thinking it will last long, but I learned that the proper storage makes the fruits and vegetables life longer. There are some that needs to stay in a room temperature like tomatoes, pineapple, watermelons even onions and garlic. Others should be kept in the ref or cold temperature like avocado, apples and leafy vegetables. There are more tips on how to preserve or store our food online, doing so will helps us on budget and more likely no waste of food and money.

#2. Make use of the Parks – this is one place that we can do our workout or other physical activities like running, biking and even playing ball games. Parks are free, it just need some push and a drive to get there and exercise. It was fun to be in parks where you can see nature, different people even kids playing, and the air is refreshing. If going to the gym is so expensive then make use of the parks.

#3. Take advantage on Gym promotions and discounts – every season or mostly every month gyms have discounts not only on membership fees but also on their merchandise or offered classes. There are also promos like refer a friend and you will get month membership fee off or 50% discounts on personal trainings and so on, in which usually comes to your emails for your info or on the gym websites. Some gym will organize contest like biggest loser and you will win cash. Not only you lost weight but you can gain cash.

#4. Workout at Home – ideally gym is the place to workout but no place like home. At home you don’t need to drive and spend gas going to the gym, some don’t need to buy sports clothes or good sports shoes just to workout. There are so many exercise routines that you can actually do, check online or YouTube, clear some space and you are good to go. Zero membership fee and zero expense equals great deal!

#5. Save on Races – lately we joined running and obstacle races and the price is definitely not cheap especially in a family of four. Not only you’ve spend some money on training and clothing but the joining fee is quite expensive. So, be sure to check out some “code discounts” or “promo codes” which for sure will save you some bucks. Also some like Spartan Race where you can buy the three race for the amount of two will save you serious money, this works if you really plan to do the trifecta.

There are more tips that I believe you can do to save money while getting the best shape of your life. Just be creative and research some ideas, it will go a long way on your budget.
