chessWhy do we like Chess?

It was my husband’s favorite sport since his younger days in which he was a varsity player. He told me once that his father who taught him how to play and be very good at it.

Now, he is teaching our sons this sport and so wonderful that the kids got interested. He was so patient with them teaching the pieces and moves. With a 3 and 6 years old kids it was hard but looking at them really wanting to learn and play makes it a bit easier and fun.

To know about this sport, here are some information:

Chess is a board game played by two people. The chessboard has 64 squares arranged in an eight-by-eight grid colored black and white, some chessboard have different designs and colors.

In this game each player have 16 pieces set of one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. These six piece types moves differently where the queen has the most powerful move while the pawn is the least powerful.

The player’s objective of this game is to attack and capture the opponents pieces until checkmate the opponents king.

Before playing this board game you need to know the following;

  1. Know the rules
  2. How to place the pieces to their positions
    • First Row: Rook, Knight, Bishop, Queen, King, Bishop, Knight, and Rook
    • Second Row: Pawns
  3. Know how the pieces move
  4. Learn and create some strategy and tactics of the game

Chess is an intelligent or a mind game as you create position patterns and tactics to defeat your opponent. This was played all over the world now – amateurs or professionals.
