Football : Story at a Glance

April 5, 2016 By: Katycomment

footballWhy do we like Football?

Since we came here in the US, we learned that football is a big time sports here. We got interested and watch it since then.

My husband started buying football for our sons and they’ve love it especially my youngest. We are playing this in the park every summer.

We are always looking forward to watch the NFL, and our traditional treats during the game are pizza, chicken wings and chips. It was a fun family moment for us.

To know about this sport, here are some information:

Football or also know as the American Football is a sport which played by two teams of eleven players each in a big field. Each end of the field has goalposts where teams aim to score by touchdown or make a field goal by kicking the ball to the opponents goalpost.

The first football game was played last 1869 by two college teams where it is more popular in the United States. Now, we have the Super Bowl which is the most-watched sports events in the world.

There are team positions needed to play this game.

  • Offensive Unit – responsible to advance the football down the field with the ultimate goal of scoring touchdown.
  •  Defensive Unit – to prevent the offense from scoring by tackling the ball carrier or by forcing turnovers.
  • Special Team Units – responsible for all kicking plays.

Football has set of rules, members of officials, scoring system and safety equipment’s like the players gear to prevent them from injuries.

This sports needed so much physical strength as the players tend to run a very large field, passing the ball while the opponent is tackling you or kicking the football to field goal.
